There were very few sporting good stores located in San Diego County at the time so Art was able to increase his inventory by ordering extra Wilson and Rawlings products when he had a special request, and as time went by, the little store became packed with customers. Soon he needed more space, and when the 7809 Broadway building became available just around the corner he moved the store. It was a great location right next to the Lemon Grove Bakery where people would come from all over to buy bread and pastries. Eventually, the Bakery moved and Art expanded into the empty bakery space as well!

In 1981 the Healey Enright Family bought the business and in 1993 acquired the one acre site at Broadway and Grove Street where they currently operate, which had previously been the US National Bank building.

For over six decades Berry's has served the San Diego County community with quality products and excellent service, providing athletic supplies for most high school and college sports, as well as youth, adult, semi-pro and professional sport teams.
